Artistically talented since childhood, Janet began painting in earnest in 1982. She is largely self-taught, with the exception of several workshops. Though she originally painted in oils, acrylics are now her chosen medium, and realism her style. Janet painted as career permitted through the 90’s, attending several shows per season in Maine. Though working full time as a business owner, she spent a year building a fresh inventory in 2005 and began to show more frequently, nearly selling out. During this time, her personal style solidified into its color-rich, realistic form that transports the viewer to a different time and place. Wildlife is the newest addition to the Glatz portfolio. Beginning in May of 2012, she will show her work at thirteen juried venues throughout New England. She is a member of Freeport Creative Alliance and Five Rivers Art Association. Janet resides in Durham, Maine.
